A cold rain that continued throughout Sunday’s trick-or-treating didn’t prevent spookified kids from finding their annual sugar fix, but it certainly seemed to curtail how long many of them stayed out.
Watson Street, typically the heart of Ripon’s trick-or-treating experience, never bustled like past years and cleared out well before 5 p.m.
The most popular “costume” Sunday? Gollashes and umbrellas, worn more often by shivering parents than by their damp children.
